No, bleeding from the feet is absolutely NOT normal. Did you see a vet?

When you say 'claws', I presume you mean her nails rather than her toes or pads. If so, it's probably related to their length and possibly the surface she'd been walking on that day. How long are her nails and do you trim them regularly? And where had she been walked that day?

If the blood was coming from her pads or toes, then the most likely explanation is a cut or other injury. Either way, you should be checking her feet to find out. If there's no obvious injury and she bleeds again, please visit a vet.

Any signs of bleeding is not normal and should be checked out. If you clip Niner's nails yourself, you may have clipped too close and hit what is called the quick. On white nails, it's the pink you see inside. On black nails, it's harder to see. Walking dogs on concrete helps "file" their nails.

Maybe Niner cut herself or has a sore. Was the blood flowing or did it look like she stepped in it?

Do you claws have tears or rips in them??? Can you see inside of the nail, to where the quick is??? It is not normal to have bloody nails, unless some trauma has occurred. If it continues, take her to the vet.

Another tip to anybody with animals in the house: be careful using Swifter or other chemicals on your carpets or floors. If the floor is still wet, and the animal walks on it, the chemicals can be absorbed into the animals bloodstream and cause neurological damage. I do not think this would cause bleeding from the nails, but one never knows, depending on the source of the chemical.

Let us know what you find out!!!!!
