Circles?

Does anyone else's boxer walk in a circle while they poop? Maggie does this and she invariably steps in it as she spins in a circle. I'm not sure how to keep her from doing this... any suggestions??

LOL! I see dogs do this all the time! I have no idea why? It just makes no sense.

I would see if you can keep her on lead and stop her from going in circles. You may be able to entice her to just walk in a forward manner and not in a circle. At least it will keep her feet out of it. I know 3 dogs that are traveling poopers!

The only time I have had a dog go mobile while doing their business they were slightly constipated. If your dogs poops seem overly firm you might want to add some fiber to help the poop move and the dog to stay still.

Oh she does it with every kind of poop! I think she just can't pay attention to one part of the yard long enough to finish the job!

Murphy does this and yes he stands in it and trails it everywhere. Also Cali our FB does it. They do it this before as if preparing the for it. It also serves as a warning that they are about to poop.

.. memories... Sampson did this alot, especially towards the end of the movement. He never stepped in it, he was WAY too worried about getting his paws dirty (thankfully.) He would wander forward and slowly turn, especially if it was taking a while. No idea why, just sort of "was what it was." Good luck - the lead idea seems like the way to try.

Two of my 3 spin in a circle while pooping also, and have since they were puppies. Luckily for us, they got better at avoiding the poop as they got older and hardly ever step in it now. Our girl twists around and seems to be watching where she is stepping, it's funny to see. Our other one never does it, he always stays in one spot. I have no idea why some do it and others don't.

It's funny because me and my daughter were just talking about how Austin used to do that! He would spin around in circles....sneezing....do his business then charge into the house like his butt was on fire!

Y'all have me cracking up. I've never seen this. Catalina goes as if she is squatting on an an imaginary toilet. Flash did the same thing. It is quite the cute sight. Wow, we talk about everything.

Smiley, my pit/boxer, has to poop ON something. He will back up into a bush, or over a high clump of grass to poop. He's so weird! Nothing worse than trying to gather the poop balls off of branches of bushes.
