Chronic Loose Stools

Sherlock has had the SAME issue. I switched his food 3 different times. He is now on Innova partially and raw partially combined. However, he was diagnosed with 3+ giardia and we just finished one round of flagyl and one round of panacur and doing one more round of panacur the end of this month. Since this, his stools are solid.

He started to get mange and it cleared right up a few days after starting the raw diet. He is also not shedding near as much as he was on kibble alone and he doesn't have the "boxer gas" we all know so well.

I personally think raw is the ONLY way to go and if you think about it, dogs are carnivores and many of those preservatives in kibble can cause all kinds of intestinal problems. If your baby doesn't have worms or giardia, it could be something as simple with the food or something a bit more complex like thyroid.

I don't know what has happened, but we have "normal" poop! I started Bella on gastriplex and she had her second dose of panacur, so I don't know if the worming finally took or the supplements are helping. At this point, I don't care! She's a very lively little girl, I have to believe it's the worms, but I'm sticking with Blue Buffalo and the gastriplex. You guys are great, thanks for the help and support.

Of course, gas is STILL an issue, but it was with Mickey, too. Just one of the things we deal with to have a bouncy boxer in the house!
