we have purchased all thick plastic ball ornaments because kallie thinks they are tennis balls. she also thinks that the tree is pretty tasty she has eaten all the ends of the branches as far as she can reach. She just wont leave it alone this year... which is strange because she didnt touch it last year.

This is the first year we have had a real tree. Cyrus sniffed at it a couple of times when it was first put up, but no problems. My cats are another story! I find ornaments on the floor almost every morning, with tiny cat teeth marks. Little stinkers! They only do it at night when we are sleeping!

new puppy, new tree

I did not even try to put up the usually Christmas tree this year. I used to only decorate the top half to keep Toby off of it.

Since Max is almost 11 weeks old, we decided to get a small 4 foot tree and put it on top of the coffee table. He cannot get up on that yet. So far, so good.

He is mostly interested in the TV anyway and ignores the tree.

we will see....

My boyfriend and I are bringing home Boomer, our 8-week old fawn baby boy, this Friday!!! :):) We decided to put a tree before he comes home so he would get used to our house, and the tree, all at the same time. I am hoping that he will not want to "play" with any of the ornaments, or the tree for the matter. We will see this weekend, but we also have a gate to put up in front of the tree if we need to.

Oh boy... we have been lucky with Cooper, he has never bothered the tree. Of course his first Christmas he was 8 months old and now he is 20 months. Maybe you could just decorate the tree with tennis balls and squeaky toys? :) Hahaha

Since I have Sal & Sam's crates in the living room- there was no room for a tree. But they went crazy for my parent's tree. Sort of happy I didn't put one up!

Tree is fine but...

Katie Jo won't leave the presents alone. She keeps trying to take the bows off (and on smaller ones takes off with the whole present) AND keeps trying to pull out the tissue paper from the bags! And on top of that, she was playing with her bone and throwing it in the air and it landed on one of my nephew's gifts. Before anyone could stop her, she pounced on the present and now I have to re-wrap it...thanks to the two paw sized holes in the wrapping!! Silly girl!!

That's the reason I haven't put any of our wrapped gifts under the tree yet! My boys (the younger ones) keep asking when I'm going to put the gifts out. Buster would have gotten to all of them if I had. He made quite a mess today while we were out for just 2-3 hours. I'll finish wrapping tonight though and stick them under the tree...now that we should be home bound and not going anywhere until the big day!

Chief ate one of my son's Christmas presents! I came home one afternoon to find the box and everything else spread out all over the living room (what was left of it anyway)! I'm not sure what it was about this specific present, but he wanted it!

Fortunately, no problems with the tree. Thank goodness, because I have enough trouble with my 1 year old son getting in the tree!

I'm afraid Duke got to our tree. I was pretty upset as I truly enjoy our Christmas tree. He was totally fine for the first week, he acted like the tree wasn't even there. Well we went to a dinner party last Friday night and when we came home, it was a MESS. He'd taken most of the lower half of the tree ornaments (balls) off and they were shattered ALL over the floor. I also had some fake pointsettia (sp?) that he'd managed to mall as well. Duke is only 6 months and we did leave him alone in the house so, I can't really blame HIM (we should have handled the situation better). Hopefully, next year will be better and we won't have any ornament accidents.
