Choking from Eating too Fast?

ok, I just had to give Duke the Heimlich Maneuver. He was choking on his foot with loss of breath. He eats it so fast! He also has the hicups most of the time after eating but I wasn't worried about that. But this scare has got me a little worried. Has anyone had to do this or experienced this problem before? I mean, had I not heard him choking he could have sufficated!

You may want to try putting a couple of large rocks in with his kibble...this will help slow him down some, as he'll have to work around the rocks to eat his food.I am sure there will be some others here who may have more wisdom for you!I am glad you're baby is ok!

Try putting a large ball or rock in his bowl. He will have to eat around it and it will slow him down.
