chin and cheeks swelling up

i just woke up and Snatch (7 months, 45lbs) has his chin and chicks starting to swell up after i played with him :(

my vet told me to give him 2 benedryl in case of allergy.

I just want to make sure with you that this swelling up looks like an allergy.

That happened to my boxer when he was a puppy. His eyes and whole face swole (sp?) up. My vet also recommended benadryl and it worked. It turned out he had been eating and playing with bees. Hopefully it's nothing too serious and the benadryl works. I hope your baby gets better soon!

what is weird, is that we were just playing in the living room when that started .....

PS: He's hungry, he didnt eat yet this morning.. Is it ok if i give him his food?

That is strange. Could he have eaten something or gotten into something earlier in the day? I am not sure how long it takes to swell after contact with something that may cause an allergic reaction. I would be interested to hear what the outcome is. Has the swelling gone down at all?

I don't think there's a problem with feeding him, but I am not a professional either. Maybe call your vet and ask them.

I don't have benedryl.. i'm waiting for my husband who went to pick up some (he was at work with the car.. si i had to call him)

Well, it's been now an hour and the swelling is starting to reduce a lot..

Shall i still give him 2 benedryl when my husband come back?

I'm sorry to be so lost about what to do... this is our first boxer and i don't want to do wrong

i gave Snatch 2 benadryl 25mg @ 12.30pm. he's doing much better

my baby did this too. turns out she had a fight with a yellow jacket and it won. Benadryl worked great and the swelling came down. Now I laugh about it, her tongue was too big for her mouth and she was quite a sight...I hope your baby is doing better. Keep us posted

again this morning.. :(

i woke up he was fine, we played 5 minutes, and one part of his upper lip started to swell up and got hard.. then it became his whole upper lip.

he threw up a little (yellow liquid).

i gave him 2 benadryl this morning and now he's all good, playing and jumpy as always..

this is weird, it just happens in the morning.... could it be something in my living room carpet?

I feel bad for my Snatch, he looked so so sad when it happened :(

I'm just really happy benadryl works so good on him
