A few weeks ago my 5 1/2 mo old Oakley has had a few red pimple like bumps on his chin, 3 or 4. The vet's office said this may be an irritant from food/water dribble. Since then some has cleared up, so it doesn't seem to be a huge concern but is this something anyone else has encountered before?

Star went through a spotty stage at its worst at 18 months of age. I used an antiseptic spray and just kept her chin clean.

Yes, acne is reasonably common in puppies and young dogs. Using stainless steel food and water bowls, rather than plastic, and putting them through the dishwasher after every use helps a lot.

You could try washing his face off after eating. It's a stage that most young boxers seem to go through.

I also read that you can use a warm water compress of green or black tea. It helps to dry out the bumps. Luke had them too. We were using stainless steel bowls. I heard ceramic was better so we switched and their all cleared up. Plus jowel towel after eating and drinking:)

Elvis also had little pink/red pimples on his chin when he was about 4 months old. I used salt water and it seemed to clear up, and he hasnt had them back (fingers crossed)!!!
