Thank goodness for this forum. I have been feeding my 11 week old puppy BIL JAC twice a day based on the breeders recommendation. Thanks to all the helpful postings I now know that BIL JAC is not good for him (Corn, by-products, etc). So I researched the feeding link and the food analysis and have narrowed it down to Chicken Soup vs. Canidae. Does anyone have a preference? If so, why? Thank you.

My older dog is severly allergic to corn. I feed my boys the Chicken Soup. Both are very similar foods. They have alot of the same ingredients. I tryed a sample of Canidae and they flat out refused to even try it. I have heard alot of people say they have had this happen. Both are a great choice IMO! I can get both foods for about the same price where I live. The CS large bag is 35lbs for $30 and the Canidae is 40lbs for the same $. My boys have continually gained weight on the CS and have really nice coats. They both have been eating it since they were 8 weeks old. My oldest is 8 months and my youngest is almost 5 months. If you decide to try one see if you can't get a sample to try first. Also if you do switch do it gradually so your dog doesn't get an upset tummy. It should take about 10 days to switch from one food to the new. Good luck! :)

Canidae!!

Roxy is on Canidae and we are on our second 20lb bag. She loves it. We have not yet tried Chicken Soup. We might eventually, when we rotate back to Chicken again. We are going to be changing the protein source after this bag of Canidae and then we will prolly try chicken soup.
I love Canidae. It is very affortable. Roxy loves it too! You couldn't go wrong w/either food.

If you are rotating for a different meat source you should try something other than CS. The main meat source in Canidae is chicken also. There would be no point because they are so similar. :)

O, Ya I meant to say that when we go back to Chicken again, we will be trying Chicken Soup... Not immediately... After this bag of Canidae is gone, we do Solid Gold Mmillennia which is beef, then we will prolly go to chicken soup and see how she likes it. I misworded it wrong I suppose.

Both CS and Canidae are excellent choices. We use Canidae for Kilbane and Skin Kid uses CS for Jack. However most of the time the "boys" switch bowls half way through the feeding, so they get a little of each.

They are both pretty much indentical as sidhewlf stated and whicever one you choose will be a great choice. Dog's have different preference so you might want to start with a small bag first of whichever one you decide and take it from there. Just make sure that you make the food change gradually.
