My Boxer also gets picky sometimes with her food, so I´m always looking for new ways to get the food 'in'. From some post I read around here, I see that lots of people use chicken broth with the best results. Well, I´m from Portugal and I couldn't get a definitive translation for the word "broth". I sure would appreciate anyone telling me what it is...

Thanks

Chicken broth is chicken noodle soup without the chicken or noodles (or veggies) :) It's the soup base. It comes in cans here in the US, or you can make it yourself by boiling a chicken (some people throw in veggies, too) with a bit of seasoning, removing all the pieces once the chicken is off the bones, and saving the leftover "water."

I seeeeeeeeeeeeeee... thank you very much !!! It´s the water where you boil the chicken, getting that way the 'chicken taste'... here we have that, but in little cubes. But i think that these cubes have lots of spices. Anyway, I always use that water to cook the rice that I mix with the chicken itself and the kibble.

Thanks again...

Picky Eating

I sometimes wish my Boxer Jake was a bit more picky with his eating habits. He is almost 1 1/2 years old and he eats everything that looks inviting to him, without even thinking about what he eats. It isn't that he's hungry because we always keep his dish full of food. We don't have set times for him to eat, he eats whenever he's hungry. He's not a glutton either. However, If he sees anything unusual, he's got to investigate and then try and eat it. His latest delicacy is finding slugs outdoors and eating them. When I get after him to stop, it turns into a game for him. It's like if he knows he's being bad, he'll crouch down with his butt in the air and challenge me to get whatever out of his mouth. He does know that when I say "sit" with a firm tone the fun and games stop and he knows I mean business. He will stop his anics and behave. I only do that if it's something that will really harm him like the other day he had a styrofoam peanut in his mouth. I got that in time. I don't get after him for the slugs, I figure they are full of protien.
