Raw chicken bones are fine. My two boys have been fed a diet which includes raw chicken wings for almost a year now (Nov. 1 marks a year) with no problems. It's when they're cooked that they become a problem (and this is true for all bones). When the bones are raw they more pliable. When they're cooked, the chemistry is changed and they become dry and they tend to splinter which can do some serious damage.
Feel free to browse the BARF forum for more info on feeding raw foods/bones.
