Chicago, IL playgroup???

I live a good 60 miles from downtown Chicago, but less than 45 minutes from you, if traffic isn't too bad. It's something I would like to do, even if it was only once a month that we could make it. Let me know if you get any more replies.

I live in Bolingbrook and would be more than happy to get together every once in a while. I'm sure Dugan would love it too. There is a great dog park in Naperville that is off leash. There are always at least 30 dogs there at one time. It's great. Let me know about the play group.

dog park in Naperville huh? Where is it located? I'm somewhat familiar with that area. We will definately have to get together....Oscar, Eeyore, and Mollie would love it.

I live in Rockford, IL, which is not that far from the Chicago area. I would be interested in getting together with other Boxer owners in the area. My Greta has not seen any other Boxers since she left her mother and sisters. I think it would be good for her to see some. Please let me know when you plan to get together.

We just took Otto to the Naperville dog park Saturday. It's off Naper-Plainfield Road in Naperville. It is not fenced in. We trust Otto but don't trust many of the other dogs at these parks. Otto is relentless when it comes to play and it seems to piss off some of the other dogs who can't take his antics. Otto's initial off leash happy pounce onto the other dog usually freaks the other dog (and way to sensitive owner :) ) out. That is why I thought of getting together with other boxers so he could actually play.

Sounds great! We look forward to hearing from you. IF at all possible, could we plan something for a Sunday afternoon? I have classes this summer and work also. Sunday is the ONLY day that I don't have anything to do (besides catch up work that I miss during the week). Hope to hear from you soon.

That is the dog park we go too. My fiance has a beagle who just walks around, but Dugan usually gets into the hard core playing. He is the same way with the pouncing. The only problem with that park is that all of the dogs are trying to be top dog. My Dugan always seems to get humped by the other big dogs and he gets tired of it. I know that they are trying to establish dominance, but other dogs join in and it always seems to get a little out of control with the growling. So far he hasn't gotten in any fights, but I would hate for it to happen. Therefore we've been limiting our time there. He never starts anything, it's usually others then he antagonizes by barking. Well I'm done rambling. Let me know anytime you want to get together. We live so close.
