If you are looking for a sunny vacation package, either find a discount travel agent (they are excellent at finding good deals and 1/2 hr spent with a good one saves you a lot of time and money doing it yourself!!!) or try checking out travelocity or expedia. The problem I have had with the websites is that you don't always get all the available flight options or prices; travel agents have access to information you don't have and can look around on other flights a lot faster! Plus, they also have info on charter flights and can arrange hotel packages.
That being said, if your schedule is flexible, you can often book last minute online for really cheap and get really great deals. My bf's parents were finding cruises for $200/per person when they were looking for a last minute vacation in October.
Your best bet if you are just looking for a flights only is to check out airlines' websites and sign up for sale alerts. I get air canada's sale alerts and check westjet frequently for sales etc and there is often stuff on there

Vacation... I am jealous, I could really use one too! Can I come???
