Chasing his nub

I swear Chewy is the best entertainment I could ever ask for. He has this infatuation with chasing his nub. He will be laying on the floor and catch a glimpse of it out of the corner of his eye and off he goes, round and round trying to get a hold of it. He literally throws himself at his own butt, trying to catch his tail. Since it is so short of course he never gets a hold of it but it is not for lack of trying. The other night he threw himself at his butt so hard, that when he missed, he fell and landed on his face. Occasionally he will lay there and try to lick it but since he cannot reach it, he gets frusterated and just gets up and starts chasing it around.

:p he looks at me like I am insane when I start laughing at him.

Anybody else have one that chases thier tail - or lack there of?

Tae does that, too! She has her tail, though. It's such a riot. She chases it like a total nut and she doesn't just try for a second or two. She'll stop, then try again. What a hoot!

My Rocky does this constantly. Plus, his nub is a little longer than it really should be so he is able to just barely reach his. He finally falls on the floor and pushes himself up with his front legs to bite it. We laugh so hard. Especially when he tries to take off walking after spinning in 50 circles. It looks like he's a staggering drunk dog!:p

Tyson does this too but since he's a boxer mix he still has his tail, so he catches it, the other day he was spinning and jumping....he looked like a bucking bronco, I wish I had the video camera handy.

LOL! Roxy does this too! It's hilarious! She'll pause for a moment in the middle of the room and then start whirling in circles as if she just remembered that she has a nub that hasn't been caught yet. It's so funny because I have no idea what in her head tells her that she must chase her nub right that very second!

tank does the same thing all the time. the more he can't reach it the harder he tries! :p

I am sooo glad to read this thread! I really thought Lael had lost her little puppy mind! Everytime she catches a small sight of her nub... she goes for it with all the vigor and contortions she can muster!
