If the crate is too big, your pup will mess in it.
I'd suggest either sectioning the big one off, or letting him sleep in the small one at night (I'm presuming it is big enough for him to stand up and turn around in)

I agree! We went through this with Sam and his having too big of a crate! He messed in it all the time! Once we got him a smaller crate, he avoided the accidents because he didn't want to be directly in his own mess! As long as it's big enough for them to stand in or turn around in, it's okay!
