I woke up a few days ago and noticed that Harley had caught a cold. Could anyone tell me how long it usually takes to run it's course, i think he's on day three right now, has a runny nose and sneezing, he has some yellowish (snot) coming out of his nose. Is there anything that i should have a concern about about, or does it just have to "run it's course", he's eating well and drinking lots of water too, he just seems so tired all the time until he goes out for his regular walks.

When my dog and my foster dog caught colds it lasted about 3 weeks for both of them but they fought it off. Just lots of sneezing, red eyes, snotty noses, and eye goo. As long as he's eating, drinking, doesn't seem in distress and nothing is green or have a foul odor I wouldn't be too concerned. Try to give him extra down time, make sure he has a good nutritious diet, plenty of fluids, and it should pass anywhere from 1-3 weeks.

Good luck!

Thanks, thats what i figured too, it certainly hasen't affected him wanting to go to the dog park, he has a ton of friends there and loves going to play with them. Even with his cold he starts circling around the door at about 6:30 every night, LOL.

Just make sure NOT to have him around other dogs until about a week after his symptoms go away as he IS contagious and every dog reacts differently. Another dog could catch it from him and end up with a sinus infection or something and need antibiotics, etc. So no contact with any other dogs until he's symptom free plus an additional 5-7 days.
