Our cat, Cleo, gets some kind of twisted pleasure out of tormenting Moab. She will occasionally wait for when he goes out the dog door, then sit in front of it and not let him come back in. He'll stick his head thru, she'll hiss and spat at him, he'll back out and try again only to be greated by the same treatment. He's 65 lbs, she's about 12 so he's got the advantage on her but won't use it. We literally have to go move Cleo so Moab can come back in. Thank goodness she's declawed (done many years ago though and wouldn't do it again based on what I know now) or we'd have a few trips to the ER for similar instances as yours!
Mostly though, Moab tries to entice her to play and she just hisses at him. We actually got one of those 6ft cat apartments for her just so she'd be more civil to be around in general. Our other cat, Sadie
, was much more tolerant of Moab and would even rub noses occasionally.
