I want to post a warning based on Leah's experiece the day after Thanksgiving.
Leah had a good burn going through the backyard and ran smack into an exposed bolt on the trampoline. She ended up peeling back a flap of her skin (almost no blood) about 6 inches back and 12 inches up and down. We rushed her to the vets office (she was in shock and Mommy was hyperventalating) and they took her straight back to surgery. He had to cut the flap of skin and stitch her back together:-( She doesn't have any more loose skin around her tail!
The drain tube came out last Tues. and the stitches come out on Friday. She is feeling so much better and doesn't know why Mommy and Daddy won't let her run and jump yet.
Please, if you hav a trampoline with a safety net, make sure all of the bolts are covered. We didn't know and never even thought something like that could happen. We have taken down the trampoline (as soon as Leah was dropped at the vet) because I don't even want to think what might happen.
Sorry this is so long, I never thought this could happen and would hate to think of someone elses baby getting hurt like this.

Thank you for sharing this is yet another reason why I won't purchase a trampoline.

Thanks for the warning. Glad to hear Leah is doing better. My five year old daughter has been bugging me for a trampoline. I don't think so! I didn't even consider it being a hazard to the dog. Thanks again.

Thanks for the warning about exposed bolts. My oldest, Copper, last Easter did the same type of injury, except it was a nail in the fence that had come through the wood. I went around the fence and put caulk over any nail that looked like it was going to come through the wood. Just like kids, we have to dog-proof they're environment. I'm glad that Leah is going to be OK.

Glad to hear she's doing ok. Thanks for the heads up on the bolts. I've got a problem with low hanging branches, i'm always worried they are going to catch a branch in the eye while they are burning.

Wow, I would not have though of that either. I will be doing a close inspection of everything in our back yard tonight when I get home. Glad she is ok :) Sending her healing vibes so she can hurry up and get out there jumping a playing again!
