Can't keep food Down_What Now?

Cleo just can't keep her food down, its her 3rd day now and she is as quiet as a mouse just snoozing/slepping all the time.

Should I starve her for 24hours in case its a bug? or try something different?

She normally has dried pellet Duck&Rice type food mixed with water, so I have tried Rice & Chicken, no good that came up aswell. Then I tried Tuna and Mash which stayed down longer but still came back.

If she is like this another day I will see a Vet. It's not long that she was treated for blood in the Urine that was a UTI but that cleared up ok.

I would appreciate any thoughts on those of you have experienced the same problems.

Is she able to keep her fluids down? If not, especially after three days, I would be concerned about dehydration. I'd give my vet a call. Hope Cleo feels better soon ~ Cathy

She is drinking but no where near as much as normal, just the odd one about 1 in every 5 hours.

One thing I have also noticed but did not mention before, is that she seems to be sort of swallowing all the time when not sleeping, and has a runny nose of all things.

Just made some chicken soup but no go. She was sick about 10 hours ago, look like the Vet tomorrow.

Have them run a . . .

. . . blood panel on her. I always get worried now when I hear of them not eating. But, she is drinking, even if it is a little and that is positive.

I gave Cleo some boiled chicken, white rice, all very finely chopped, (half normal size portion) and a bit of butter to make it slimy. So far so good, and she has been more perky for a change, even begging for more.

I am holding off going to the Vet now and will see what happens over the next 24hours.

When I told my wife about the butter she went berserk, but in my mind I thought it would go down better and hold it all together etc, also her stomach must have been raw after all that heaving.
