My 9 year old male has been sick for 10 days and in the hospital for 7 days. Cant keep water down and refuses to eat any food. Brought him for the weekend and he drank about a cup of chicken broth and kept it down but later that night threw up his water. Took him back monday morning to the vet, still no change 2 days later. Vet said they were going to send him to a specialist on Thursday if their is no improvement. If anyone has had any experience with anything like this please let me know.
Thanks,

Took my dog Mason to a internal medicine specialist today to have him scoped and biopsy taken. Was told he has Lymphoma in his intestine. Put him on 20 mg. prednisone twice a day to see if there is any shrinkage to at least stop the diarehea and vomiting to try and give him a little more time. Just 2 weeks ago he acted like he was a puppy playing with his toys and now I can barely get him to wag his tail a few seconds so sad. Seems to be glad to be home in his bed after 10 days in the hospital. Hoping and praying for a miracle.
Why did he have to be such a perfect dog and make this so hard? Just being a Boxer I guess.

The Preds. dont seem to be doing any good, still wont eat anything and getting weaker. Just want this weekend to love and hold our big baby boy. The thought of him not being here another day just tears my heart out, but cant stand to see him suffer so I will just thank God and my best buddie for a wonderful 9 1/2 years and do what I know I have to do.

So sorry to hear that your baby is sick. Sending (((((((positive)))))))vibes your way and (((((((healing))))))) vibes also. It seems that these dogs are so special and we only get to have them around for such a short time. My Shakira has been really sick this week and she is starting to get back to her normal self. I am so happy for that, I was so scared that she wouldn't make it. We lost a boxer mix at Thanksgiving last year from cancer and this would have been way too soon. I can't imagine what you are going through. Give Mason a big squeezy hug from Shakira and me and a big kiss on that smooshy face and we will all pray he gets better.

Hug and Hold your boxer

It is so wonderful that you are able to spend time with Mason. Every minute is so precious when our babies are ill. My boxer, Magic, was always “up and chipper.” When she got sick, I could hardly believe the change in her. I felt so hopeless and unsure of myself taking care of her. It seemed that no matter what I did to make her better it didn’t work. The one thing that I knew for sure is that I could give her my love…all 100% of it. Please know that I am thinking of you and Mason and will be sending you positive healing thoughts.
