Canidae to Potato & Duck Natural Balance Allergy Formula??

Okay. I know that Canidae, which I am currently feeding Sirus, is a wonderful food. He seems to enjoy it anyway! =0) But...

...A couple of days ago, Sirus and I were at my parents house. I forgot to bring dog food with me (Bad mommy!) and he was hungry...So gave him just a very small bowl full of my parents' dog's food. I don't like the brand of food that they feed their Labs anyway...But it made Sirus sick. Well, I was going to be staying with my mom for a couple of days and neither of us wanted to continue giving Sirus something that his tummy didn't agree with. So...Since I feed my dog a holistic brand...We went to Whole Foods Market and all that they had was the Potato & Duck Natural Balance Allergy Formula. And now Sirus LOVES it! Even more so than he seems to enjoy Canidae. I want the absolute best for my kid...And I did a little contrast and compare between the two foods. It seems to me...The less ingredience (Natural Balance) the better. As long as it has all of the stuff in it that it should anyway! And cost has never been an issue!

So I guess my question is...Does anyone have any advice? =0/
Has anyone made the switch from Canidae to Natural Balance, and seen a change?

I would appreciate any advice or comments.

I definitely saw a change...but it was from NB Duck/Potato to Canidae. My boy did absolutely WONDERFUL on the NB..his coat was the best I have ever seen it. Then I switched him to Canidae for variety and his coat went to crap! It looked dull and he also got bad eye boogers, which he has never had in his life.

I would definitely recommend Natural Balance!

I am on the opposite side of this....my babies didn't do as well on the NB so as of today I am trying canidae all stages we'll see how it goes! Good luck to ya!

I love both of NB's Allergy formula's. They do the best on the Fish and Sweet potato, shiny coats, firm poops, no goopy eyes - there was something in the Canidae that did this to both.

I had Dempsey on Canidae and now switched him to NB SP and Fish. He is doing much better on the NB. Hopefully your baby will do as well on the duck and potato formula.

I fed Lexie Canadae All Life Stages and switched her over to NB Sweet Potato & Fish formula. She is doing MUCH better on the NB. On Canadae, her coat was so dull and STINKY... she actually had a stench about her. She also developed bad eye boogers. Now on NB, her coat is absolutely gorgeous. Her smell has gone but she still gets a few eye boogers.

Choose what's best for your boxer

Lucky for you and good for Sirus that he enjoys and doing well with NB . I finally found a new diet that works for my boy after Nature's Variety changed their dry food formula earlier this year. He seemed to be allergic to everything except Cal Nat'l which dried out his skin so bad. After several months of misery, our solution happens to be 1/2 dry, 1/2 canned (rotating proteins/brands) plus the addition of flaxseed oil and digestive enzymes.

How about trying him on either of these: Both my dogs do great on them, firm poops, shiny coats, no eye boogies, no itchies and the ingredients are way healthier.
