Cancer @ 11mos. Is this unusal??

Sadie went to the vet. She weighed 47 pounds. When the x-ray got back they found an unknown mass.
Blood work came back as normal. The vet thinks it might be cancer. They are doing a Biopsy tomorrow. Is this unusual @ 11mos old?

We love Sadie so much but this is going cost over $1,000.00 not to mention whatever else she needs for future care.

We are so upset and keep praying that God will help comfort her.

I think it's fair to say that cancer at such a young age is fairly unusual. Not unheard of, and boxers are a breed somewhat prone to some cancers - but still unusual so young.

If you do a search of the forums, you'll find quite a few previous threads that may help you out some. Depending on exactly what sort of cancer it may be, the prognosis may be quite good.

I guess cancer can affect anyone human or canine at anytime but it's unusual in such a young boxer. I have no advice but I am so sorry you are going through this with your girl, I hope she will be ok.
