This is precisely why I left my first vet, years ago. He had this "I have the degree on my wall" attitude towards me. He gave me no credit for brains when it came to my Boxers. I defer to my vet for all medical issues. She knows best. But I know my breed best when it comes to breed specific issues. She is wonderful and always listens when I tell her things I have learned about the breed. She recognizes this helps her grow as a vet for other Boxer clients. And I have come to trust her over the years about medical issues.FarleyBoxer said:As the daughter of two (human) medical professionals, I will say that many physicians are very turned off by patients who come to them armed with information. Many (not all) have the ol' God complex; they think they know more than anyone and no one should question them. .
I will admit to laughing when I read the topic of this thread
