I'm not sure if this question goes here or on the behavior section.. but here it goes...

Kiko has almost 1 year and since very small learned to "go" outside.. He would wait or "tell" us by starting sniffing around the house... but lately seems like he is forgeting his training.. Is that possible?

We take him outside around 4 or 5 times a day.. sometimes he just goes outside, do his thing and when comes back inside, he does it again.. :P

I'm not sure what to do.. since he IS going outside.. but also inside.. :S

Have anyone had this problem?

Have you tried bell training? It has worked wonders for Bayleigh. Now we know when she needs to go out!

No actually i have no idea how to do that? Never heard about it. I'm really new to dogs.

Bell training is when you hang a bell on the door that you take him outside with. Everytime you take him out you make him ring the bell with his paw or nose. They eventually put 2 and 2 together, ringing the bell = going outside. If you do a search for "bell training" hundreds of posts will come up :)

Maybe you need to go back to potty training 101 ;) Take him out every 30 mins. If possible make sure he pees twice, they usually wont empty themselves on the first pee (as youve found out). You can also keep him on a leash with you for 10 mins after youve been outside so you can catch him if he goes again and take him outside quickly to finish off.

SO many people have this (the regression) happen to them, so its not an uncommon thing. Good luck!

How often is he peeing exactly? That sounds like a lot. Frequent urination can be caused by a urinary tract infection, or even by kidney problems. When it starts out of the blue like that, the vet is usually the best place to head ;) If he checks out fine physically, then you can start to think about behavioural issues.

I also wonder whether or not he's neutered yet? If not, it could be the beginnings of marking behaviour that you're seeing.

Hi, first of all thanks for the replies, it helped a lot.

He seems to be gettin back on track again, I did like checkers recommended (seemed to me the first thing to try) and he seems to be gettin back on track..
I'll try the bell training, especially since I've read that is good if you don't have the door he goes outside in sight all the time.. so we know when he wants to go..

Right know he is going like 5 times a day.. and its been almost a week without accidents... my goal is to get it to around 3 times, since the winter is comming here in montreal, and he proved last year not to like to go out when is really cold.

Do you guys foresee any problems with that? (the amount of times he goes out per day)

To anwser gmacleod's question, yes he is neutered....
