Sadie can swim!!
Good news!! Sadie can now swim and we didn't teach her! She did it all on her own!! She's such a smart girl!!!
Last night we took her and Katahdin out to the lake for a romp in the water. And as usual, they were running all along the edge of the shoreline, jumping in and out of the water with unending energy. And yet again, there was a Lab swimming in and out of the water and moving out deep where they wouldn't venture. At least not until last night!
While they were playing in the water, I kept noticing Sadie moving out into a deeper part of the lake and just kind of wading in it. At least that is what it seemed like to me. I really couldn't comprehend what she was up to at that time. It looked like she was just walking in deep water. Then suddenly, I noticed some mischief in her eyes. She stopped, she jumped up and with Katahdin on her heels ran as fast as she could to the point of land that the Lab had swam out to. She moved so suddenly and so far from us that we were standing on the shore with our mouths open saying to each other, Sadie is going to drown (!!) and take Katahdin with her! We started running toward them when it became apparent to us that she was going after that Lab who was out deep! She jumped in determined to reach him and to our amazement began swimming and swimming well! Katahdin followed her and of course his bottom started sinking. He comically started bouncing in and out of the water toward shore and turned around to watch Sadie swimming her little Boxer bottom off and having the best time!! We are sooo proud of her, she never ceases to amaze us! Hopefully soon I will be sharing the tale of Katahdins victory in swimming but presently it is Sadies turn the shine! Go Sadie go!!!
