Can boxers have blue eyes???

i was looking on Google at boxers and i saw three boxer with blue eyes. they didn't looking mixed and on the color page here i didn't see anything that has to do with eye color. They where white boxers but one was fawn with one blue eye. I was just wondering so i hope you guys know the answer.

The breed standard here in ireland states brown eyes, I dont know a lot about white boxers but maybe the lack of pigmentation has something to do with the eye colour.

I think a lot of white boxers have blue eyes. Ive seen white ones with an eye patch and the eye that has the patch is brown. I love the blue eyes.......they are so crystal blue, some almost appear blueish white.

I'm with Helen. It seems to be a genetic lack of pigmentation with the white boxers. It is striking to see especially against the white coat.

so boxers can have blue eyes and be purebred? wow i didn't know that.. and if it was a lack pigmentation then that would mean if a fawn or brindle boxer that had a white patch could have a blue eye right?

Im not sure but I doubt that they would breed from a dog with poor pirmentation it ofcourse could pop up in a litter and anyone wanting a " pure bred " dog would not go down that road if they wanted to show their dog as the Irish standard states brown eyes it also states that the coat can be Brindle or flashy fawn however if you just wanted a pet and you liked the blue eyes go for it.

I've seen lots of whites or piebalds with blue eyes, but never a fawn or brindle. Some have had one blue, one brown and I've even seen individual eyes that are half brown and half blue. The whites with blue eyes, from my experience anyway, seem to be deaf more often than those with brown.

My boy Achilles is pure breed boxer, he's white with one bright blue eye. He's not deaf either.
