Does anyone know is their a reason why I can’t have another male Boxer in my house when I have a 5 y/o male that is fixed and a 2 1/2 y/o female that is not fixed ? I was told by a breeder that two males would not get along? If that is true would 2 females get along without fighting all the time? We love our boxers and would like to have another male so my female could have a litter or 2 before we spade her. Would appreciate all comments,
Thanks

Two males live together WAY easier than two females. It really depends on the temperament of the males. An intact male plus another male will probably NOT get along.

Why are you wanting to breed your female? Breeding is so hard on their bodies, and unless she has been health-tested and is of champion lines and a champion herself, it's probably not such a hot idea to breed her. Please do a search on breeding here at boxerworld in the forums and research this thoroughly before making the decision to breed your girl.

I agree with everything Mandi said. If you are interested in learning more about the necessary health tests and breed standard, this is a great place to learn. You may want to speak to your vet and find out about getting a mentor that can help you learn about breeding and maintaing the breed standard once your babies have gone through the necessary testing.

Or contact your local boxer club for a responsible mentor. :)
