Camera bag

I'm looking to buy a bigger/better camera bag. I really need to to house my dslr, extra lens or two, all the little extras (extra batteries, charger, etc). A place to hook a monopod or tripod would be a plus.

Something that did all of this would be great, but I have another "want." I am a person who carries her laptop EVERYWHERE. I use it for school, work, everything. If anyone know of a good backpack or camera bag that can function as both (laptop case and camera bag) that would be awesome. I truly don't get to use my camera as much as I wish, and usually the best "shots" come when you aren't looking for them. I don't carry my camera with me unless I need it, because I can't leave it in my car (MN winters, -15F at times). In the summer it's not a good idea to leave it in there either.

Any suggestions?

For some reason I can't type the link because the forum doesn't like the word (why?), but if you go to E.tsy (remove period) and do a search for Snugglens, it'll bring you to a camera bag shop. They're nice bags, and they look nice too , but they don't fulfill your laptop bag need. I would like to get one of these when I have the money for it. Currently I just throw my DSLR in my purse if I'm going to need it, and that's a horrible solution .

Thanks! I thought I wanted an all in one backpack. But now I'm reconsidering. I just bought an expensive backpack, and don't feel like replacing it . On the Crumpler website, I might get a Large Haven. This way, my DSLR can get put into my already existing backpack (that can already hold all the extras)

I have the CompuTrekker Plus AW.
Lowepro - CompuTrekker Plus AW
It has a built-in tripod holder, rain cover, plenty of space (I can fit in a Nikon D700 and a 200f2 lens attached, plus a 70-200f2.8, plus a Canon 300f4, plus a Canon 30D with a 50f1.8. I will post a photo when I have some time)... there is a large pocket in the front for keeping papers, even a jersey. On the rear side (against your back) there is a padded compartment for a laptop (no problem for a 15.6" laptop).

I had some concern about the build quality but so far it is doing fine.

Holy moly rocky! That is a spendy bag, but looks great!! Maybe an anniversary gift or way future b-day present

I have a Lowepro as well but mine is smaller. I have the Lowepro Slingshot 100 AW. Lowepro - SlingShot 100 AW
It is a sling style so I can carry it on my back, but swing it around to the front and have access without setting everything down. I can carry my camera with a lens on plus an extra lens. I also carry cables, battery charger, filters, an extra card, and can carry my mono pod on the side. I wanted the 102 AW which is a bit bigger, but they were out of stock and I was going on vacation. I got mine at Best Buy. If you are like me, I like to see and feel things before I spend money on them, you can go to a store and see it first hand.

It is somewhat bulky but you do carry a lot!

Pam: your bag looks very interesting. Does it have two separated areas (top and bottom) or is it one area with two openings? I can't really tell from the photo at http://products.lowepro.com//CatalogImages/18-2034-IMG1_LRG.jpeg

It has two separated compartments. Here is a pic of the slightly larger AW 102, same design, but I could get an extra lens in the larger one. SlingShot 102 AW

Thanks. I couldn't tell if it was another compartment or a removable padded divider.
I have another bag like yours but not with the sling style unfortunately and the second top compartment is useful when you carry sandwiches/small bottles etc when hiking.

Guess I'm not much of a organizer I use my small camera bag that I used with my film slr and I carry everything,my tripod in it's own bag,camera bag hold camera and 3 lens,small back pack for water dish and water and a small doggie blanket,and of course treats.HAHA I guess I was pretty loaded down now that I see it written down plus my Boozerbaby,but we sure did love our walks and camera days.I try to bring my camera everywhere we went cause the minute I left it at home I would lose out on some great shots.Dog in one hand camera in the other.
