Cady, spay day, and I am worried...

Cady, our new rescue girl, formerly known as Hazel, is getting spayed today. Having a neuter/spay never bothers me, but in this case I am having a tough time. I don't want her to think I am "leaving her". I don't want her to think she is back at the shelter.

I put the food and water up and the other dogs are wanting water, so i am going to give them their breakfast and their water AFTER I have Cady loaded up to go to the vet.

I'll be glad when I can pick her up! Hopefully she won't have to spend the night there.

I can sympathize with you! mine went in yesterday. we are picking her up today (our vet keeps all spays overnight). I, too, was so worried that she would think that we were giving her back because she slept in a crate with her previous owners and now sleeps in bed with us. we'll just have to give her extra love when she gets home so she knows that she's still our baby...best of luck to you. I'm sure it will go fine!!

Keeping you in my thoughts

I've been following your story about Cady since the beginning as you know; once again, I'm so happy that it has ended/begun so wonderfully! I know that you've been through this before, as you have other fur babies, but it's NEVER easy! She'll be fine, and back to her usual self before you know it.

I would definitely try to get the vet to let her go home with you ASAP since she has been through a lot recently.

I've had three dogs spayed/neutered in my adult life, and I'm still already dreading/worrying about Gus's neuter on March 28. In my mind I know he'll be okay, but I don't want to hand him over...even though I love my vets. You sound like you love your fur babies and hover over them like I do

Hi! She is doing great! She was pretty groggy when I picked her up, had her sleep it off in her crate and this morning she is doing wonderful.
