This is somewhat of a rant...just to show how ignorant some people are:
Saturday I had a garage sale so I put Romie on her tie-out & she sat with me most of the day. She had a great time & got lots of lovin' from everyone who came! At one point a lady was over sitting in the grass playing with her & started asking me questions about her - she said she had an 8-year-old male with hip dysplasia and before he got too bad, she wanted to breed him so they could have one of his puppies. She asked if I was interested in breeding Romie when she came into heat!! I was pretty appalled & told her that I didn't believe in breeding animals & wouldn't want to risk her health. She continued to talk about how much she wanted a new puppy & started asking me about where I got Romie from & what her parents looked like. I told her that Romie's mom had been mostly white and she proceeded to tell me that she shouldn't have been bred & how she wouldn't have a puppy from a white mom b/c it couldn't be registered.....BUT she had no problems breeding a male with hip dysplasia!?! HELLO!
Another older man came up & played with her & said that he had boxers when his children were growing up b/c they were the best dog out there for kids. He asked if I was having problems training her & I told him just the normal puppy stuff. He then told me that, that was b/c they were the dumbest dog you could have! He said that they were great with kids, but so dumb that they got into everything & were horrible to train!! GEEZ! Why would anyone ever tell you something like that! Not only is it wrong, but just plain rude!
Anyway, out of all the people there, I guess two ignorant people is a good ratio! Oh, also, my nephew accidentally dropped his Sausage, Egg & Cheese biscuit in the grass & Romie ate it ALL before I could get it from her...Needless to say, she has been having diarrhea problems for 3 days now! Any tips on how to ease her tummy issues?? Thanks!!
