I am at my whits end I don't know what to do with Ali. He is a year and six months and for a while he would be fine if I left him out all day alone but now I'm coming home to a disaster. Looks like a tornado ran through here. So I decided to go back to the kennel method however that is not working he is just too strong. I've tried putting the kennel against the wall that worked for all of about 2 months. Then I tried chaining it up with a chain and a master lock that worked for a while then he learned how to bust the whole door off and squeeze under with the chain still attached. He is like superman he can get out of anything. Anyone have any suggestion?? Please help!! Is there like a steel reinforced kennel somewhere out here?? JK.

How about shutting him in a room such as the bathroom where he can't really do any damage? I think that's going to be safer for him than a crate. Crates are fine for dogs who're calm in them - but dogs that break out of crates the way yours is are at risk of serious injury. Some have been killed doing so.

Beyond that, I think it sounds as though you've got some major anxiety issues going on there. How about contacting a behaviourist and getting some help with that? It's better to address the underlying cause of his behaviour than to just end looking for bigger and stronger crates ;)

I agree with the moderator. Has your baby been getting enough exercise? Boxers REQUIRE exercise every day. Maybe you could walk him early in the mornings before you go to work. It would make for a safer situation and be much better for your boxer:)

I have a big male myself. The bathroom thing is not a good idea. I tried locking my Bronx in the bathroom and I had to replace the door. maybe he needs afriend or juats a few good toys to keep him happy? I found as long as my Bronx does not get bored he is ok but once he is bored, its over!

That's what I was thinking, my Cobe would chew through the door or eat the knob off in a heartbeat. Good luck and I hope you find something that works.

Hi, oh my God, I understand you totally. If you have been reading my posts, this is my life in a nutshell. Mine is 11 months old and I have tried everything. He hurts himself trying to get out and scrapes up his face and paws. What seems to be helping now, is Comfort Zone. It is a plug in that has DAP (Dog Appeasing Phermones) you can buy it at any pet store. Along with that, I give him 3 Ultra Calm biscuits at night and 3 more in the morning to keep him calm. I leave him out until lunchtime that I go home and then put him in his kennel (the crate was too dangerous) and when I get home I let him out again. I pray all morning that he does nothing to the house and so far so good. I just hate leaving him in there for 8 hours.

I also close the blinds and leave soft music on. Has your puppy hurt himself trying to get out of the crate?
