The Voren is an anti-inflammatory (corticosteroid) and will help the swelling of the hives go down. Can help with the itching as well. One dose typically lasts about 2-2 1/2 days. It's about 10 times stronger than prednisone!
Atarax is an anti-histamine very similar to Benadryl. It will help with the itching.
She should be feeling (and looking) better very soon. Hopefully whatever it was that triggered the allergic reaction is long gone.
Here's the interesting part. The shot itself only helped for a few hours -- bumpies came back. Dosing her now with the Atarax as well -- vet didn't say not to, and there's no evidence that they react together -- and she's back to normal, and definitely feeling herself. Go figure.
