I don't ever give my dogs rawhide. I have a puppy who likes to chew. Are bully sticks ok to give? I only heard about them. Are they digestible with no problems. Please educate me on this. I have a three month old baby boxer. Should I even buy this? He is chewing all his toys up and I throw them out and buy new ones. Do you know if local pet stores carry these.

Bully sticks are okay as long as you supervise him and take it away when it gets small enough so he could swallow it whole. You could also stick it through a Kong or other toy to prevent this. Local pet stores sometimes carry them. bestbullysticks.com has a great selection. I used to buy them a lot for Happy and Sky but they eat them so fast, it got too expensive. But for a puppy they might last a while.
Marrow bones are also fine. You can get them at the grocery store/butcher. Just make sure to scoop out most of the marrow before you give it to him. Marrow is very rich and he might get sick from it. Bones can get quiet messy, I usually put old blankets down before I give them or they eat them outside.

I give my 4 month old raw bones and bully sticks and she likes them both. They are her main source of chewing. I buy her 6 inch braided bully sticks and they last her a while. I also giver her frozen marrow bones. She has never had an issue with the marrow giving her diarrhea or upsetting her stomach. I will often take some of the marrow out though. When she is done I will load them with peanut butter and refreeze.

I recently bought her a raw lamb femur which she absolutely LOVED, as it had a good amount of meat and fat on it. That did giver diarrhea though as the amount was just too big for her little system. Good luck!

I personally go with antlers. They are a bit pricey but they last forever and they don't chip, splinter or crack. They are also naturally shed and have no chemicals added, so no upset tummy's ;) Also I would be careful with lage animal marrow bones (eg. beef or pork) because they are very dense and can cause chipped teeth.

we do the braided bully stick and Bella is 4 months old. We also have an antler and marrow bones. She is a chewer right now but this seems to work.

WE do raw meaty bones, 12 inch extra thick bully sticks (or 32 inch bison sticks for my Boxer who is allergic to beef), or antlers. All 3 have been tolerated well by my German Shepherd and my Boxer for years. I would not give any of these things though unsupervised.
