Bullmastiff and a Boxer living together?

Have always thought about having 2 dogs but wanted to wait until the 13month old intact male Boxer was a year/18mths/2years area.

Well now into that ballpark and considering the options. Had a possible interest in a neutered male 10mth Boxer but that has fell through as the owners have changed their minds and are keeping him. Glad for him of course, and probably best as I will follow advice and go for a bitch now.

My thoughts are now that possibly 2 Boxers just might be too zany and mad and well I have always liked the look of a Bullmastiff and its got the characteristics and temperament that would suit I think.

I'm thinking of a bitch pup Bullmastiff is what would best suit (will get her spayed). Its a bigger dog fully grown than a Boxer and not quite such a runner or as mad (lovely way) as a Boxer and even a little more obstinate I understand than a Boxer.

Long shot but has anyone got some experience of them and maybe together with a boxer? Or any views?

I'm taking my time to try and get this right but for me its either another Boxer or a Bullmastiff, can't think of another dog that would suit our circumstances so well and that we really like.

I don't have any experience with bullmastiff's but just wanted to say having 2 boxers isn't too mad, my 2 are fine around the house as long as they have had a decent walk. For me it would be a male boxer. Good luck with your decision!

Iv'e had three boxers and everything was fine Roxie passed , Bless her heart, so it's just the two now. I would think a mastiff would be great!! Good luck, let us know!!

My brother has a Bullmastiff x and he gets along brilliantly with my two muppets. There's a few pics in my gallery of him with Lola & Zeb.
About the running thing, don't you believe it, Vegas (brothers mastiff) keeps up with my two perfectly. His temperament is very calm and placid, he puts up with my two jumping all over him for ages and will tell them off when they get too much.

I believe a bullmastiff and a boxer would be a wonderful combination. Just remember that bullmastiffs as with any bully breed can be extremely stubborn and hard headed. That being set aside, they are wonderful dogs.

i did some research into bullmastiffs and talked to a few breeders at shows and they all said the bullmastiff can be dog aggressive and alot of socializing and trianing are a must ,as with any dog i think its the breeding and training i would love to get a bullmastif one day they are my favorite breed after the boxer.. good luck let us know how it goes
