OK- Last one for now!

Cl2ysta1 - I was wondering if it would be ok for me to ask you a few questions about HOD? I know you battled it with Cali for a few months and if you'd rather not talk about it, I COMPLETELY understand. Otherwise you can just PM me.

Poor Buford! I don't know anything about HOD, but I hope you will be able to ease his pain! It's really rough when our babies are hurting!!

Don't be afraid to spoil him at this time.......
Canned food usually tempts them to eat. Also baby food - the meat varieties. Also remember if you cook 1/4 cup of rice into 1 cup of water (broth is better) that is 1 cup of fluid they have ingested.
Hugs to your baby.........it's so hard when they are sick.
You can also use a baby syringe or medicine-spoon they sell for infants to get liquid into him.

We also tried the zithromax... it seemed to help her alot.. with feeling poopy but it wasnt a miracle drug for her because we had waited too long to put her on it.. but apparently there is a 70% success rate when u put ur dog on it right away. It is a human antibiotic and I would definetly try it. It is about 50 bux for a pack which is 4 or five pills. Two the first day and one for the next five days. The website is on the thread that I put up about cali.. the vet is doing research on the drug and its success with the disease HOD. the number is on there and you can have your vet call and talk to him about it.. I'm sure they will script it out for you.. It cant hurt him.. only help him

www.cah.com/library/hod.html contact for the vet is at the bottom of that page

Poor Buford. I have never personally dealt with a dog that has HOD but I have been around a few. Unfortunatly, It seems like time is a major thing, it can take awhile for them to recover from it. It must be so sad seeing your baby in so much pain/discomfort. I recently saw again a puppy who just recovered from HOD. He not only had HOD but also developed pneumonia, and the whole litter had parvo. It was a long tough road for him but he pulled through it!!!

I will keep your little man in thoughts and prayers!!!
