I was told 3 years ago by our vet that bud had cataracts in both eyes we were informed that we needed to wait to have the surgury by his then vet. He has slowly lost almost all of his vision and broken my heart along the way but it doesnt seem to bother him much. I took him to an eye specialist recently and they told me that 3 years ago they thought you were supposed to let the cataract fully develop before surgury but not anymore, they immediately set him an appointment for surgury. They said that his left eye was too far gone to fix and that the right eye would have an 80% chance of success so. My we loaded the car and drove an hour and a half to have the surgury.

It is 1 week later and his vision is much better, he seems like a puppy again jumping around and playing with the other dogs. We are so excited for him, he is our furbaby and we have our first skinbaby on the way in august'04. He will have a new brother or sister soon. YEAH!! Bud's surgury and treatment was a little pricey but worth every penny for him to see us again. I wouldnt trade anything for him.

If you have any questions I will be glad to try to help.

THANK YOU BOXER OWRLD FOR THE
WONDERFUL INFO. :D

I am so glad to hear of your success with the surgery! Our elder boy, Baxter, is blind. I've often wished there were something we could do for him to regain his sight however, the opthamologist had confirmed that there is not. I'd give anything to be able to see him jumping around and playing like a pup. Again, I'm so glad to hear that Bud's surgery was a success :)
