Every now and then Bru will decide a toy must die. He works and works at the toy until he has a hole ripped in it and the stuffing pulled out. He also removes any extranous eyes, ears or noses. If you take away the toy in mid-death he acts like I'm the meanest mom around and ruin all his fun.

Does anyone elses dog enjoy killing their stuffed animals? As I am typing this Bru is attempting to forever silence his wiggly giggly ball :)

Oh, yes!!!!! My two absolutely love to tear a stuffed animal to shreds. As a matter of fact anything with stuffing like a pillow or doggie bed :( will do for them. They even sometimes eat the fiber fill so I pretty much have to watch them while they are in one of their "kill" modes. :D

That is one of Mack's favorite toys, stuffed animals. We make regular trips to Goodwill or Salvation Army - where you find that little kids have *way* too many stuffed animals and periodically, Mom donates them. They are like brand new for a dollar or two. I usually remove any eyes or noses and stitch it back up. He particularly likes bunnies - long ears you know.
He's funny when he gets an opening in one and buries his nose inside and "dis-embowels" it. I really think having things like that around that are "OK" to tear up help to keep them from trying it on your furniture.

Ttakas is our demolition expert - nothing lasts around him. He destroyed the giggle ball soon after they got it, and is now working on the basketball which he deflated within minutes of being given it!! Stuffed toys in our house are of the 'limp' variety - i.e. without stuffing!!! I too go to Value Village to stock up on 'ugly' soft toys, I feel terrible giving them some of the really cute ones!! Bronte enjoys a game of 'tug-0-war' so we have the odd ear or leg lying around too!! She always manages to snatch the toy Ttakas is working on and then the chase begins..... watch out for flying Boxers!

Yes, Casper and Sumi are fabulous toy killers. The wiggly giggly only giggled for about 15 minutes before Sumi had dislodged all the noise makers inside. We try to go around picking up the stuffing bits and leaving the stuffed toy shells or carcases around as long as possible for them but once the little squeaky part inside is able to come out - the part glenn and I refer to as the "heart" - the toy is put to rest.

I did find one stuffed toy that is pretty resistant which has out lasted all the other toys in the house, the legs are just starting to come off now, but it has been around for quite a while. It's a "Big Mean Kitty" made by fat cat, inc. it says copyright Anee Lika "made in china" on it. I got it at the vet's office shop, I haven't seen them in PetSmart yet.

Your post made me laugh.

I know what you mean by a mission! Daizzy goes on them she will hunt a toy down and then kill it. If you stop her she will jump and carry on like it might hurt you if she doesn't finish it off. LOL I always end up giving it back to her because I feel bad.

Oh boy...killing stuffed animals one of Roxanne's favorite things to do! She has a stuffed animal of Thumper the rabbit & he has a big hole in the back of his head with no stuffing. This is where she now pulls all of the other stuffing out of his body from. Ususally when she's done I pick up all of the stuffing and stuff it back in which gets her fired up even more. The funniest thing is when she has the toy in her mouth and she shakes her head from side to side. She's such a goofball.

Right when Oscar came "Home" to us, the first thing we noticed is that he "stalks" toys----crouched down, approaching slowly and then WHAM! I'm trying my darnest not to spend a lot of $$ on his toys knowing what the outcome will be, but it's so hard with a new furbaby!
