Bruisersmomi
Super Boxer
O.k, so the other day bruiser was roaming around the house, I left him alonefor 2 seconds (literally) and when I came back he was in the bathroom and had gotten into the trash can. Hubby's fault for not shutting the door.....anyway...
, he had gotten a hold of a maxi pad, ewwwwwe! As soon as he saw that I saw he had it he bolted off and before I could catch him he gulped it down!!!!! I freaked out, and the only thing I could think of was that it would get obstructed in his intestines because those things retain fluid and expand...eek! So I called the vet and she told me he had a 50/50 percent chance of passing it, OMG was all I could say...my poor baby! She told me what signs to watch out for, not having a BM and vomitting after eating and to give it at least 48 hours or I could bring him in to be xray'd. Well I chose to give it 24 hrs, he had been pooping and eating with no vomitting, so I figured it was passing through because there was no way it could be in his stomach still after 24 hrs. Well, 4:30 a.m. I am awoken with the dreaded vomit noises and the first thing that came to my mind was OMG it's obstructed and he is throwing up because of this. I race out of bed, flip the light on and low and behold what's on the floor? Yep, he threw it up, thank god!!!!!!! I was so scared for my little guy, not to mention the vet bill that would soon follow. So let's just say I am going out this weekend and getting trash cans with lids on them!!!!!!
