Brucellosis for both???

My girl came into season yesterday. She was bred, unsuccessfully, on her last heat by AI. Does she need another brucellosis test? Also, do you test males as well?

Sorry about that, I just realized how vague I was in that first post.

My girl was cleared for everything prior to the first breeding. She went to UC Davis for her ECG, she was holtered, had her hips done and her thyroid checked. My male is clear on everything as well, we just finished all his tests. This will be his first breeding, and my first litter. I checked the health tests and didn't see anything about brucellosis which is why I asked.

Hm, you're right, brucellosis isn't on there. I suppose because it's not breed-specific; all dogs regardless of breed (or mix) should be tested for brucellosis prior to breeding, and prior to each breeding. (Heavily used stud dogs might be tested every few months, instead of every breeding, provided the bitches all have negative results.) The other thread explains it, as well, but brucellosis can be transmitted via non-sexual means, so dogs and bitches, maiden or experienced, should be tested.
