Good morning,

So happy to have found this wonderful thread! We are the delighted family of Indiana or Indy. He'll be 5 mos. old on Christmas day, lovely fawn with the cutest little white spot on the tip of his nose. He is the 3rd boxer we have had the privelege to live with, we could not be happier.

Really looking forward to talking to other boxer owners. They have so many traits that seem to be specific to their breed. Of course many more that they share with most dogs (and in our case the boys they were raised with too!)

So, looking forward to spending many happy hours visiting with other who love and try to understand this lovable, frustrating, completely captivating breed of dog.

Good morning Sandy,

This place is great. I have learned alot from the wonderful people on here. I hope you injoy it as much as I have.

I am also from Wisconsin. It is freezing but my Darby (11months) does not seem to mind. What part of Wisconsin are you in? I am in the southwest corner (Grant County). If you are not to far way maybe we could have a boxer play date.

Hi Misty & Darby,

Is that near Madison? I'm near Milwaukee.

I know what you mean about these dogs and the weather. Indy is constanty surprising us. He goes out there and parks his skinny little bottom on the snow and licks at the flakes as they are coming down. Loves it out there. Out last boxer, Rascal, thought the outdoors was only to be used for potty, walks and sharing with people. Could not tolerate the cold or heat. We watch Indy, because he might like the cold, but these 0 deg. days will not door any good to his little padded feet. They are a never ending surprise and wonder!

Welcome to BW form Upstate NY. Congrats. on your new baby. Living in the snow belt can be challenging at time with our babies. It was hilarious to watch my boy Ramos the first time he experienced snow, biting at the flakes and trying to keep one paw off the ground at all times. He hates the cold so it can be a battle taking him out to do his business, but I wouldn't trade it for the world! I look foward to your future posts and welcome again.

Another cold Wisconsinite

Welcome to the site Sandy,
I am from Milwaukee as well. I got Otis about 2 weeks ago and he never ceases to amaze me. At first he was not reall keen on the cold weather but he has gotten more an more use to it. In fact he's starting to get a little too couragous. This morning I turned my back for a second and he was off down the driveway. What a littl *hit. I had to laugh because I know his curiosity is only going to grow.

Welcome, Sandy!

We're Wisconsinites, too -- from Green Bay. I've gotten loads and loads of info and support from this site. I'm sure you will too. And yes, it's darned cold here but none of us really mind. Bongo loves the snow, but it does get painful on his paws after a bit. But he also enjoys having his feet rubbed and dried, so I guess the pain of the ice is worth the pleasure of the footrub!
