I dunno how true it is but I have read in a couple of places (websites not books so don't know whether you can trust the info) that Golden Retrievers and Labradors get their nose turn brown/pink from black sometimes if they eat from plastic bowls and not stainless steel. If your boxer is eating from plastic it just MAY Be a direction to think about... although I don't know if it relates to Boxers as well.

Emma's (Lab) nose HAS become a little brownish in the past 2 months, she's been eating from a plastic bowl, I must buy her a stainless steel bowl (it's healthier too and more hygenic) but just didn't get to do that yet.

The "snow nose" theory is interesting. It isn't tremendously cold here in NC, and Dallas is inside most of the time, but I did notice the change in the last few months as it got colder. Maybe it will go back to black in the spring. He eats from stainless steel bowls, so that's not the problem.

I have also heard of plastic food bowls causing dogs to lose pigmintation of their noses. To avoid this we've always used ceramic/stoneware food bowls. Water bowls are less of an issue because your pooch doesn't rub his/her nose around the inside of the bowl like they do with a food bowl.

Hope you figure it out soon!

I have also noticed that Dempsey's nose is turning brown, it is also very cold here in NY and am wondering if that has something to do with it. He doesnt eat out of plastic bowls. I also thought it was dirt when I saw it. But it's not, his once black nose is turning brown

Rhiley's nose was looking kind of brown and dry last winter, so I treated it with vaseline lip therapy every day for a few days and it was back to a shiny black.
