Boxer Buddy
hi - I need some advice.
i hired a dog sitter to watch my baby while i was out of town for the weekend. the plan was to have the sitter and our girl stay at my house, where she is comfortable. the sitter let me know that she was moving this weekend and said she might have to run over to her new house but that she could take stella with her (it had a big backyard for her to play in). I said that was okay.
on sunday, i get a text saying that stella hurt her leg, she didn't know how it happened (WHAT?!?!) and that they were going to the vet. The vet ended up splinting her entire leg and recommended getting xrays from our vet. it says suspected cardial dislocation. the gave us pain meds and she is obviously uncomfortable...
when i got home last night, the sitter was gone because she had to pick up her child. i noticed that stella's crate was full of urine....she never pees in her crate! this means she was probably left in there for a really long time.
i am furious and i dont know what to do about this situation. stella is only 11 months old. i am so scared this is going to hurt her development and cause future problems. i also want to know exactly what happened while i was out of town - where was this girl when stella was peeing in her crate and getting hurt? any suggestions on how to handle this kind or situation? i know there are going to be large vet bills for this - do i ask her to pay?
-extremely upset.....
