Brocky still bites. I made a thread about this issue a while ago. But now he is 6 months and im really afraid of having a 60-70 pound dog "play biting" sometimes he gets really agressive.
I've tried every thing. (a squirt of lemon juice in the mouth,no Not in the eye. a hollar at. trying to calm him down, the word NO sternly, no bite words, grabbing the lower jaw sternly and saying nobite(worksbest..but not well enough) waterbottles) its so hard to make him stop. Sometimes you just want to scream and smack him but i would never, of course.
I just am wondering if anyone else is having this problem or had this problem and fixed it. please tell me your method.. :)

THANX ALOT!

When he bites you should redirect his attention to an appropriate chew toy and if that doesn't work you should deprive him of your attention, ie: leave the room or you can give him a timeout in his crate.

My Jade was a horrible biter and after trying everthing imaginable we just ended up telling her no and walking away ignoring her. Sometimes she got short time outs in her crate also. Whatever method you chose just stick with one. Even now at 21 months old we can't rough play with Jade without her play biting too hard so we just don't do it without toys in our hands to stick in her mouth.

I agree with Jan. And stick with ONE method for a while. Trying everything a few times will never work. Consistency and patience is the key.

Lauren,
I'm experiencing the same thing with Roxy. She's just 7 months I've tried just about everything you have done. She LOVES the taste of Bitter Apple....anyway, what seems to be working the best is redirecting and leaving. If I redirect and stay with her, she still prefers the taste of Mommy. Sometimes, I will need to put her in the crate for a time out. I don't scold her, I just tell her "Mommy and Roxy need a time out." I say Roxy crate and we walk in there. Her crate time is different for time outs than regular crate time. Time out crate time the lights are out to that room (light does still shine in from the kitchen and I'm right around the corner in the family room) and the radio is not on. She has to stay in there until she settles down and no whining. Then I go get her and tell her "GOOD GIRL", open the door. Now sometimes she comes out right away and sometimes she has gotten so comfy she stays there for a couple more minutes with the crate door open. My girlfriend has a 4 year old, and promises me she will grow out of it. Her 4 yr old was a "biter" too.
Patience....which is tested EVERY day with a Boxer in the house!
Good Luck!

hang in there and know that it will get better. Gunther was still biting at that age. I found that it was usually at the times when he needed a good romp outside. Helping him get that excess energy out helped. Also, as was already mentioned, I'd grad the nearest toy and engage him in appropriate play. It took awhile. Now at one years old, he will occasionally put his mouth over my hand (usually when I first get home. It's that excitement/energy thing again) but he never bites down. Good Luck!
