Well Billy is red/white with a black mask.

If ever we got another Boxer it would have to be Brindle or maybe red with white on it's face - to be different from Billy.

Our last boxers - the female was a flashy fawn - really pretty girl. The male was a deep, deep red with a black mask.

My husband prefers Fawns, but this time we got a flashy brindle. I have to say that I like his coat the best. The main coat is really red, and the black stipes are a nice contrast. He's really striking when you look at him.

Have fun and good luck!

We have three fawns, two flashy and one not. However I perfer the brindle, its sucha wonderful mix of colors and lines, I think they are beautiful.

We have one of each--flashy fawn and a flashy brindle. Both are beautiful and get a ton of attention. It's hard to say which is more striking--it's up to personal choice.

our 3 are:
a somewhat plain brindle girl, w/black mask and a little white on toes and chest, a flashy fawn boy and a flashy brindle girl.

I love them all..so if you've already got a red/fawn, why not make #2 a brindle so you'll have one of each? :)

My fav has always been a NON flashy fawn with black mask, white on the chin, chest and toes. However, if (NO, WHEN!) I get my next boxer, if I have a choice, I would love a RED/Brindle. I've never been one for flash, however, I know that's what draws attention in the show ring. To me it breaks up their coat too much!

Just my opinion - good luck in your decision!

How much white = flashy?

After reading this thread I'm confused.

How much white constitutes a "flashy" boxer?

I know that there are two recognized coat "colors", Brindle and Fawn, with brindle being fawn overlayed with stripes. And that the fawn color can range in hue from light tan to deep red. What confuses me is where is the line drawn between plain and flashy? The AKC standard says white markings should not occupy more than 30%, but it doesn't say what the threshold is that makes a plain become flashy? I've seen some described as plain that I would have described as flashy, and vice versa. I have always thought Jack was flashy, but with just white on the chest/nose and toes, is he plain? I thought any white markings made a boxer flashy.

Give me a plain fawn anyday. Black mask, of course.

It is interesting to read everyone's opinions on this. The one thing we have in common can lead to our own wants and desires.
