diesel (my 12 week old) sometimes breathes fast in his sleep. i was j/w if anyone else has experienced this. he has been doing it since i got him 3 weeks ago. he breathes fine when he's awake, and when we went for his first vet check his lungs sounded fine. so i was just curious too see if this is normal

Guinness used to do that he also would shake like he was having seizures. They said that is how puppies get rid of all the stimulaiton they take in during the day.

Hello all,

breathing fast is quite normal, especially in their sleep, when Boxers seem to have wild dreams of chasing and barking and playing etc. Martin used to bark in his sleep and move around his paws like he was running, we thought he was going mad!!! But it is quite normal for them to dream and as a result they may breath too fast. what is more, playing before going to bed also makes them breath fast and being in a room too hot will also produce the same result.

best

Awwwww, you just took me back to when Cisco was a little baby!!! I also worried about him breathing fast! He was my first boxer that I realy noticed it, and he breathed so fast it would scare me! Be he's 7 months old now and just fine! lovicon

Yeah, Koda does this a lot. Sometimes it's quite frantic like he's having a nightmare or something, like somethings chasing him. He'll even yelp sometimes.
