Kaybie's Mom

Boxer Insane
Just a couple weeks ago, I was walking Kaybie and there were two adult men and a lady standing near this restuarant we were walking by. Most people ask if she is a pitbull or whatever, so when this guy turns to me and says, "is that a boxer?"........I was actually pleased that someone got it right for once and answer "yes she is".......and he in turn blurts out so loud....."OH MY GOD......THOSE ARE THE UGLIEST DOGS EVER!!!!"......my mouth just fell open.......I just said, "wow, that sure was rude........my baby is beautiful!"........the other guy that was there was obviously embarrased by his friends actions and said, "no no, she is so cute.....she is sooo cute.......". People just amaze me that when they were kids, no one taught them that if they don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all........

People can be so rude, Kaybie is a cutie pie! I love the look of the boxer, so strong and yet so gentle and loving.

I think Kaybie is a beautiful little girl.
Don’t we all just hate rude people! I know what you mean about people asking if they are pitbulls, hello do they look like pits? This is one reason why I love boxer owners. It never fails when we are out and about with our babies, and we run into another boxer owner/lover, we always have to compare and chat about the different characteristics. In my opinion we (boxer owners as a group) have got to be one of the friendliest breed owners out there. We all know boxers are the best but we are polite when it comes to other breeds. Know I don’t mean if you own any other type of dog you are rude. I’m sorry if I came off this way.

I can relate to that. My exboyfriend's friends have a boxer mix. When I brought Ory over to their house the mom of the house said, "Oh wow, that's a face only a mother could love." And my ex agreed!!! One of Ory's nicknames is Hansome Boy. I am his mother and I love his face (so I may be biased), but I can't say how many times he's been complimented. If anyone says that to me again, I will probably say bluntly that s/he has no taste whatsoever and walk away. Oh, and Kaybie is beautiful! :)

My Boxer

I can't believe some people. Yesterday while out on our walk, I heard "that's one scary dog", as my Scooter was in the doggy play bow and wiggling. Yes, they were serious. Tried to educate them that he would only get them dirty when he played with them and slobbered on them. Scooter seemed so disappointed when they hurried by and didn't stop and pet him!

I remember a few years ago when we only had our first boxer boy, Connor, I came out of work with a colleague to find my dh and Connor waiting for me in the car, what a nice surprise my 2 favourite males - and my colleague turned round and said "that's the ugliest dog I have ever seen" - luckily after working for 12 hours I was too tired to bop him one! Some people should keep their opinions to themselves! It doesn't matter what other people say we all think Kaybie is super cute :)

I never understood this myself. Ever since I was a little girl I always wanted a boxer b/c I thought they were the epitomy of what a beautiful dog looked like. (and that was before I knew what an amazing personality they have!) When I told my parents (lab lovers) we had gotten a boxer they just made faces at me, but when they met Tuff, they took it all back and agreed how gorgeous he was.
I understand some people don't care for the wrinkly faced dogs, but to be so rude about it is just uncalled for. I would have slugged him haha.

yeah, i have to agree wholeheartedly-- people need to keep their opinions to themselves! Kaybie's mom, she's gorgeous, and i wonder too why people don't keep their mouths shut if they have nothing good/nice to say! it's called couth, people!

well, you handled it MUCH more tactfully than i would have! i probably would have had a "blurb" comment come out, before i could hold it back, then slap my hand over my face-- too late. i have patients at work comment on my pics all the time (i have probably a dozen pics of my babies) and i'm still suprised when someone asks "aww, who's BOXERS are those?" definitely a conversation-starter! :) i've had many wonderful conversations though with patients who tell me their story about their boxer (or one that's passed).

i'm sorry you had to run in to that rude man, but at least the other person tried to make up for him!!

I get a lot of "she is so ugly she is cute" and "a face only a mother could love" comments. I have not had anyone come right out and call my babies ugly, But I am sure I would have said something like "your face isn't too easy on the eyes either"...but then my mouth totally bypasses my brain a lot.lol.
