OMG!!!! I love your boxer's name!!! Brutal. That is very awesome. We wanted a "tough" name for our first boy but couldn't think of anything good that was "different". He wound up being "Mugsy" :LOL: Not very tough at all!!!!
:LOL::LOL::LOL:
Now I feel like a jerk!!!! Our other boy is Guiness, named after the beer but without the other "n".

just call her a submarine...

Another vote for sinking dogs!!

I have a childs plastic pool in the yard that my boxers love. They will lay down and even roll in it. Well my Roxie is loveable but sheltered. My mom took her on a walk and ended up at a pond. Roxie knows about water... its all one depth (sheltered = pool) and she can play in it. Well when she went chasing after ducks she found out that all water is not one depth, she sunk. My mom saw bubbles coming up out of the water and ran in to rescue her. She still loves water but tests the depth before plunging in! :D :D

I love seeing Boxers swim when we go to the dog park. I LOVE showing up those Golden retreives, labs and poodles! hehe

Dasia sank the first time she swam. She popped back up and everytime she sees the water she thinks its for her to swim in! She is a great swimmer. We took her to Cannon Beach in Oregan and had to keep a leash on her because she would try to swim far out in the ocean. Bianca doesnt care for the water but will go in to pull Dasia out of the water by the leash so that Dasia will play with her on DRY land.

I have read that b/c of their body type Boxers are not "swimming" dogs. It's funny how some can and some can't. My Mason LOVES to swim and has many G-Shep and G-Retriev friends, he can't swim ( sinks like a rock) so I got him a lifejacket. Now he swims with the best of them. He even waits ( impatiently of course) for me to put his jacket on before plunging in :) Not sure how Aspen is going to react to swimming, she does baths OK. My guess is she'll do whatever her "big" brother does!

Since we got Jackson at about 6 mos he's been a great swimmer. When we took Karma around water for the first time she was still a puppy. She saw Jackson jump in and thought - woohoo that looks fun!! So at about 3 mos, just jumps straight in the deep area. She sunk straight to the bottom. I was freaking out. I yelling at DH to get her out and I was about to jump in and then she popped up and started swimming to the edge. I was so scared for her I ran to the edge she was swimming to, but she was like "mom, what's the big deal?" and she's been swimming ever since.

Lael can swim. But she won't go in on her own. I've coaxed her to death, and she just won't do it. SHe'll run and play in the water as long as it's not over her head. When we are both swimming and calling her, she wants so badly to come out with us, but seems to afraid to get in over her head. She can swim; we've walked out with her and let her swim back to shore. If it's hot outside, she'd rather be in water, just not over her head.

Sidda, 18 months, can swim, but does not go in by herself. We have carried her into the pool and she swims right to the steps and gets out. We went camping last summer and she wouldn't jump in either. If we put her in the water she would just swim right out. She doesn't mind rain and likes the bathtub.

My two boxers are as different as night and day when it comes to swimming. Kianna will go into the ocean up to her haunches but won't swim, she just doesn't like the water much. Giguere, since he was six months has loved water. I took him for a walk by the lake and he just jumped in and started swimming around. Actually it was more like a pounce! He would pounce in to fetch a stick and swim back with it in his mouth. Soooo cute! The other day I got into the shower and he came in with me. I figured he'd walk around the perimeter of the shower and not directly under the spray. Wrong! He got under the water and soaked himself. Also, when I hose off the back patio, I have to keep him inside or he will get all wet by running right into the spray. It's amazing how different the two of them are! Kianna has a very large chest
cavity and I'm wondering if that makes the difference in swimming ability. I don't think she could swim to save her life!

Tyson loves to swim. We have a boat and since he was about 3 months old, he's been going to the lake with us. We also use a life vest so he doesn't "go under" when he gets tired. If we pull into an area to beach for awhile he'll run up and down, jump and splash around in the water. If one of the boy's are sking or tubing he's on the back of the boat just watching them like "Hey when is it my turn". It's great fun and we truly love his antics.
