Ok, be honest with me... how many of you who don't have kids yet have thought about not having kids at all and just have boxers for the rest of your life????

I've thought of that and I love kids. But after babysitting a 1 year old the last two days while her parents were at the hospital delivering the new baby... I just thought, I love my babies so much already, do I really need to have any real kids???

The 1 year old named Sammy had a lab named Sequoia, but I kept calling both the baby and the dog Courage because I missed my babies so much while being at their house...

I am going to be 30 this year  and honestly, I don't plan on having kids. Not even sure I'm going to get married. Don't get me wrong, I love kids. I love my nieces and spoil them rotten.

But for me, I am fulfilled with my fur babies. I did however, think maybe one day I could foster care or set up a halfway house for kids who need homes.

Of course, there would be many boxers soakin up the love lovicon

I just turned 40 and Mason is the only child I need! I used to want to have kids, but haven't found anyone I'd want to have them with! So now it's just Mason and I, and that's just fine! I have an incredible group of friends and a great support network, so if this is all there is, I'm still better off that many and have the love of an awesome boxer to make me laugh out loud every single day!

I do want kids, but am not sure that my husband does. I am 30 and don't want to be too much older when I have children. That being said, if we decide not to have skin kids, my husband better understand that I will always have to have a furbaby!;)

I could have many many boxer babies!! But I think that it may require even more energy than real babies ha ha. No, not really but sometimes it does feel like that. If I am home all day, Mateus thinks that it is just for him and feels the need to keep mom busy playing or snoozing together the whole day. Tough life;)

I hope I am as lucky when I have real children, I can't even begin to think how much I would love a child for how much I love my tooty.

Ha ha... I intentionally left out the part that askes you what age you are, but I guess you guys are way more secure than I think...

I'm going to be 30 too... I just know that if I were not able to have kids, I know that my babies can more than make up for it.

It's funny you brought this topic up. When we got Hogan in September '03, a friend of my husband's said to him, "Melissa didn't want a puppy to replace children did she?".

The truth of the matter is I've had a couple miscarriages since 2000, I lost my 17 year old Lhasa Apso to a stroke in Aug. 02, My stepmom of 25 years died December 22, 2002, I totaled my car on Feb 7, 2003 and I lost my very best friend to stomach cancer that next week, Feb. 14, 2003. (I had been taking care of him since he was diagnosed one year before)

I was so ready for something good in my life. I am now 38 and the possibility of children are becoming less and less. So in answer to your post, I would love if if I had a child, but am completely satisfied with my dog. Hogan's registered name is "Porter House Hero". Because he is!

I agree!

My husband and I aren't quite 30 yet (but close) and we've had Marley for less than a year, but he is so much our baby! If for some reason we couldn't have children, we'd be more than happy with our boxer....in fact we'd probably get another one!
