Boxer Booster
Has anyone read this book? I've owned Boxers before so would this be a fun book to read. Or is it truly for someone that knows not to much at all? Thanks!

We purchased this book before making our final decision to get a boxer. It was a big help and actually saved us from making a bad decision on a litter we looked at. The mother was white and the owner claimed they were AKC registered. We went home and got out the book. AKC does not register white boxers, therefore, the pups were not registered. Just one example.
I would recommend it. It would be helpful. We still refer to it from time to time.

You were smart not to buy a puppy from this litter. There is a little bit of a loophole with AKC registrations. The AKC doesn't really care what color the puppies are. If the dam and the sire were registered, the puppies can also be registered. The dam may have had some sort of limited registration.
But regardless of the AKC stuff, a reputable breeder doesn't breed white Boxers. If you had purchased a puppy from the litter, you might have inadvertently encouraged this breeder to continue with unethical breeding practices. So good for you!
I haven't read the Boxers for Dummies book but one of our current applicants was telling me that she found it very helpful.

I have read it 3 times don't ask why maybe I am a dummy!!! *LOL* I really like the book I am sure everyone could enjoy it, But it would be the best help to a first time boxer owner or somone that is getting there puppy in the future, It has training tips, what puppy would be the pick out of the litter, first aid items all that stuff.

Good book
Read it with a highligher, and as a soon to be boxer owner (we pick her up Saturday), it was really really helpful in getting my wife and I ready. We've never had a boxer, and I found the chapters on (1) Is a boxer right for you, (2) Preparing for your puppy and (3) Training Tips were great. Someone told me Baron's makes a great boxer book as well.
