Boxers and Remodeling

We are doing some remodeling to our kitchen. I took all the things off the walls and hauled them to the dining room table so we could paint. I got all the painting things organized. Just when I was going to start I thought it was way to quiet in the house. So, I thought I better go see why my two were not under my feet like normal. Max was asleep on his couch (oh yes they have their own couch!!). But, where was Riley? Just as I thougt that I looked under the table and low and behold there was her cute little mug with my brand new expensive paint brush in her mouth. :eek:

I can't for the life of me figure out how she got it. I had it in the kitchen with me. Riley, Riley, Riley!!! So, I take it away and think I make sure she can't reach anything else. I go back to paint. Now I am up on the ladder cutting in the ceiling when I hear this strange scraping sound. I let it go and continure to paint. Then it happens again.

Off the ladder and into the dining room. I pass Max still on his couch on my way. What?? What??? :confused: I can't believe what I saw when I got to the dining room. Riley is standing on the table!!!! She pulled one of the chairs out and got up there. Riley has this look on her face that makes me laugh every time I think about it. She is in hog heaven!!! All Mom's pretties on the table and She is in the middle of them.

Needless to say Riley was in the back yard till I got the ceiling done. That girl keeps me on my toes.....

i can fully sympathize what you are going through. We too are doing some houseowrk and are going through the same thing. I have a story to tell and will post it soon, maybe tomorrow.

Riley, be a good girl and let your mom get her work finished!

Sounds like my Nano, she’s a thief too. Cute as a button but sneaky as they come. Don’t you love it when you catch them and they look at you like “what, Mom? I was bored!”

Oh I can see that face, I think it is one that has graced every boxer "mug" out there. No matter what they've done, how can you stay angry. All you want to do after seeing it is smoosh up that face and kiss 'em.

I can't stay mad at Riley. She is just a curious soul. I think she is a new soul and everything she is learning about. (I just want to think this anyway) Where as Max is an old soul and he isn't interested.

The look on her face was priceless. Even when she isn't getting into things. I did get the ceiling painted. Now to the walls.

We just finished our kitchen project and our Kodi didn't make it easy on us. We taped off the kitchen entrances with plastic so dust wouldn't get everywhere. One of the entrances goes to our living room and we moved the coach to block him from getting in. Two seconds later there he is up on the coach with his head through the plastic. He used his paw to make a whole and stuck his head through so he could supervise. It was very cute, but after the a few times it got old.

Wow, that is an awesome way to look at it. I love it! Nano must be a new soul too!!!

Giggle! We are not doing any indoor remodeling right now but are rebuilding our deck after last winter's snows completely buried the whole first story of our house (and the snow collapsed our deck). Scrappy learned to open the lower windows and get outside to pester the builders! With his kidney beaning and wagging his undocked tail I guess he didn't intimidate anyone very much!

Mali gets into lots of things when we are gone. Oscar HAS to have something in his mouth when he greets us when we return home, and frequently it is something that I thiought was safe froim dogs. He never got into much before we got Mali, so I think it's Mali that 'finds' these items, and Oscar is enough of a chump to pick one up and have it in his mouth when we walk in.
