Boxers and beer

No, we aren't giving Maddie beer. It's very hot in Kentucky these days so my GF Jan drank a bottle of Red Hook beer. She's saving the bottles for recycling, so she put the empty bottle back in the case with several other empties. Maddie has repeatedly went to the case and pulled out her empty and taken it to the couch to play with it. Jan mixed the bottles into different positions and Maddie still picked out the one Jan drink from today. Anyone else have that kind of story?

I've noticed for some reason dogs really like beer. I was over by my folks house a few weekends ago and my dad was drinking a beer and before I knew it he gave zoey a few slurps of his beer. My boxergirl (Zoey) really, really liked it and wanted more. Of course, I wouldn't allow it, but I've heard other stories of dogs liking beer too. I can't figure it out because I really don't think it's that good, but they seem to like it.

Get that dog into competitive obedience!! If she's able to pick out a bottle that her mommie touched after several hours, she will do brillinantly in the obedience ring!!

My brothers first boxer loved to drink beer. He would knock over the beer cans and lap it up. It was a weekly thing, guess it didn't hurt him none since he joined in on "guys night" of steak/beer every wkend for several years.

Nope, but the title to this thread sure caught my eye!!! Boxers and beer, two of my favorite words!
We have family and friends over every few weeks on the weekends. There are always a few stray beer bottles that are left till the next morning, but Cisco has never messed with them.

I don't have a cool story like that one, but Charlie Paper definatly is a beer dog. I think he likes it more than the guys I hang out with! He always comes with me, and pouts when I won't share my beer with him. I keep telling him beer is bad for dogs, but he doesn't seem to get it.

Harry is definitely a beer dog. We have never given him anything other than water to drink, we went to a family BBQ saturday, about 30 people there. Everyone was giving him tit bits of food and drink, I caught my grandad pouring beer from his can whilst Harry was lapping it up!!!

It didn't agree with him though, we woke up sunday to find he'd had an allergic reaction to something, all his face and ears swollen up and he was covered in hives.

KOKO perfers scotch. Many years ago my husband left a glass of scotch on the coffee table. We left the room only to return to see her lapping up scotch right out of the glass on the coffee table. Luckily we caught her before she had a chance to get very much of it.

My 2 prefer wine but will not turn their noses away from some cold beer and pretzels. DH could be drinking a soda and Justice could care less, but let him get a cold Coors Light and some pretzels and bubbles will start coming out of the side of Justice's face. It is cute!!

As far as the wine goes, DH will pour alittle white wine into their bowls if not you have to guard your wine glass with your life and by all means dont set it down. We have caught Kelseigh several times with her tongue in a wine glass.

A few weeks ago DH wasnt sure if he wanted wine, beer, or a soda so he went to seek some help. He set the can of soda, the can of beer and the wine bottle on the floor and look at Justice and said "which do you prefer"? WELL....Justice sniffed the 2 cans and walked over to the wine bottle, licked it (as he started to drool) and walked over and stood infront of his bowl and looked at DH as to say...."I'll have some of that please"!!
I guess since DH always pours some in his bowl he figured he would stand and wait for his order to be filled!!!
